This decision summarises the Council’s response to be submitted to the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust in respect of their public consultation on the proposal to build a new Centre for Elective (Planned) Orthopaedic Surgery at Colchester Hospital, as set out in the Executive report published for 24 March 2020, reference E/19/61.

That the Consultation response (Appendix 1 to report E/19/61, as amended by the recommendations in the addendum report) be submitted to the appropriate address prior to the conclusion of the consultation period on 1st April 2020.

Reasons for decision:

The Chief Executive has exercised the delegated authority granted to him by the Leader on 24th March to take decisions on any and all Executive functions in consultation with the Leader (or in his absence or unavailability, with the Deputy Leader) to ensure that the Council’s views are submitted in due time as a response to the consultation.
