This decision recommends the disposal of farm buildings and 9 acres of land, with the remainder providing an extension to Orwell Country Park and for ecological enhancements, as set out in the Executive report published on 24 March 2020, reference E/19/68.
That Ipswich Borough Council agrees to sell Pond Hall Farm to the Purchaser as detailed in Exempt Appendix 2 to report E/19/68 and that the Operations Manager – Property Services, in consultation with the Property Portfolio Holder, Head of Development, Head of Governance and Section 151 Officer, be authorised to progress and conclude the sale on suitable terms, providing they are in line with the plan and Heads of Terms appended to report E/19/68, subject to any necessary minor and reasonable adjustments.
Reason for decision:
The Chief Executive has exercised the delegated authority granted to him by the Leader on 24th March to take decisions on any and all Executive functions in consultation with the Leader (or in his absence or unavailability, with the Deputy Leader) to ensure that the Council does not lose or cause delay to the sale of Pond Hall Farm to enable it to generate a capital receipt and to bring forward the regeneration of a heritage asset, facilitate the extension of the Orwell Country Park and diversion of the Coastal Path and ecological enhancement provisions.
