This decision advises on the results of the Planned Maintenance Programme tender for Council Housing Stock and recommends the appointment of contractors, as set out in the Executive report published for 24 March 2020, reference E/19/66.


That the Head of Housing and Community Services, in consultation with the Legal and Democratic Services Operations Manager, be authorised to enter into a contract with the suppliers highlighted in yellow in exempt Appendix 1 to report E/19/66 for the delivery of the planned maintenance programme for a 5-year term from a date mutually agreed with the successful bidder.

Reason for decision:

(i) The Chief Executive has exercised the delegated authority granted to him by the Leader on 24th March to take decisions on any and all Executive functions in consultation with the Leader (or in his absence or unavailability, with the Deputy Leader) to ensure that the Council is able to complete the procurement thereby ensuring there are no increases in pricing and maintenance of its housing stock can continue.

(ii) The award of the tender provides value for money. The recommended contractors are capable of meeting the Council’s requirements and their bids are the most advantageous to the Council.
