Purpose:

Under Section 9E (2) of the Local Government Act 2000 the Leader has authority to arrange for the discharge of Executive functions by an officer of the Authority. The Leader was advised by the Monitoring Officer that to meet the aims of Executive report E/19/70 he could delegate the discharge of all Executive functions to the Chief Executive.

Decision:

That the Chief Executive be delegated the authority to take decisions on any and all Executive functions in consultation with the Leader (or in his absence or unavailability, with the Deputy Leader) until further notice.

 

Reason for decision: In order that Executive functions can be effectively discharged.

 

Note: This decision has been certified as being exempt from Call-In to enable urgent decisions to be made by the Chief Executive in the interests in the effective running and management of the Council in this emergency scenario.
