The current Electrical Rewires contract covers the rewiring of council houses and expires on 30th September 2019. A new Rewire contract is currently being procured and will be market tested, per the Council’s Contract Standing Orders. It is likely to be let in early 2020.
It is important that the Council makes an interim arrangement to ensure the safe provision of electrical rewires that become necessary.
A new 7 month contract has been awarded to DPL Electrical Services Ltd. The spend against this contract is capped at £180,000.
Contract Standing Orders have been waived on the grounds that it is expedient to the efficient management of the service and enables the council to protect its tenants
