Ipswich Borough Council are required to erect a 30 metre tower to provide an alternative nesting site for Peregrine Falcons to mitigate the loss of the silos at the Former British Sugar factory, which will be demolished as part of the redevelopment of the site.
After an open tender was issued for the supply and erection of the tower, one quotation was returned from Bellcorp Ltd for the sum of £37,489.20 plus VAT.
To award the contract to Bellcorp Ltd.
It is mandatory for Ipswich Borough Council to provide an alternative nesting site for the Peregrine Falcons as they are a protected species. The tower needs to be erected before the end of November, when demolition commences on the silos.
