OD-17-14 Sproughton Enterprise Park - Appointment of Legal Advisers

Decision Maker: Officer Decision

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

It is necessary to appoint suitably qualified solicitors to act for the Council on the potential sale / lease of land on the Sproughton Enterprise Park. Two quotes have been obtained with Mills and Reeve providing the most economically advantageous quote alongside appropriate experience as well as the capacity to deliver to the necessary timescales.

Decision:

Two formal decisions have been made:

·         To exempt the selection of suitable solicitors from the usual process outlined in Contract Standing Orders (two quotes obtained from large firms which have experience in projects of similar size and complexity on behalf of IBC or one of its wholly owned companies, instead of three) on grounds of being in the best economic interests of the Council (failure to appoint suitable solicitors urgently could result in loss of significant capital receipt)

·         To appoint Mills and Reeve to act for the Council in relation to the sale / lease of two plots on Sproughton Enterprise Park at a cost of £24,500
