Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council currently contracts its repair and maintenance work for the operational estate with RG Carter Ipswich Ltd, the contract was originally let in 2013 for a four year term. The contract is due to expire on 31st of July 2017.

 

IBC has decided to extend the contract by a further 12 months, due to the following reasons:

 

·         The current contractor’s prices are based on the agreed national Schedule of Rates, with their agreed tendered uplift (so prices are set).

 

·         The contractors build quality, response times and Health and Safety record are all satisfactory.

 

 

The value of the contract extension is £150,000.

Decision: To extend the term of the Maintenance contract by 12 months.

 

Reason: To enable maintenance works to continue on the Council’s operational estate.
