Purpose:

This decision relates to a Museum collection loan request from the Holt Festival. The Festival exhibition ‘Benton End & Friends’, will celebrate Cedric Morris and Lett Haines as well as students at, visitors to and friends of The East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing. The exhibition will be held at the Meeting Room, Holt (Norfolk) and will be free to enter. There is an accompanying programme of Festival Art talks which will also be free and an online catalogue of the works on display in the exhibition. The loan dates are 21 July to 30 July 2017.

1.    Glyn Morgan ‘Cedric Morris in his Garden’, 1957 (R.1992-59)

2.    Cedric Morris ‘The River Stour in Flood’, 1930 (R.1987-5)

3.    Christopher Wood ‘Girl Darning ‘c.1925-1930 (R.1978-13).

 

Reason:

To enable the Ipswich Museum collections to contribute to a temporary exhibition at a local venue and to continue the Museum Service partnership with a network of cultural organisations.
