Following Met Office forecasts of wind speeds in excess of 50mph, the Head of Culture and Environment Services, in consultation with the Chief Executive, determined that parks should be closed for the purposes of public safety under Part 3, Section 5, paragraph 8.10 of the Constitution.
On 31 March 2015, it was decided that those parks that were fenced/gated should remain closed from 6.30am until the end of the day due to adverse weather conditions and the public be advised of closures.
Reason: To ensure public safety in parks
