Purpose:

On 12 August 2015, the Ipswich and East Suffolk Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) made a community nomination for the The Dales Public House, 216 Dales Road, Ipswich, IP1 4JY to be listed as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011.

 

On 22 September 2015, a report (ref. NWAC/15/31) on the nomination was taken to Ipswich Borough Council’s North West Area Committee. The report can be accessed here.

 

In determining the nomination, the options open to the Head of Resource Management were:

·         include the nominated land on the Council’s list of Assets of Community Value; or

·         include the nominated land on the Council’s list of unsuccessful Assets of Community Value nominations

 

On 7 October 2015, the Head of Resource Management determined to include the nominated land on the Council’s list of unsuccessful Assets of Community Value nominations.

Decision:

On 7 October 2015, the Head of Resource Management determined to include the nominated land on the Council’s list of unsuccessful Assets of Community Value nominations.

 

The reasons for this decision were:

·         the requirements of Section 88(2)(a) of the Localism Act 2011 are not satisfied.

·         In the recent past, there has not been significant usage of the building in the interests of the wider local community.
