The Council currently holds £313,356 provided under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 from a development on Ransomes Europark on Augusta Close to be used on highway improvements to serve the relevant part of the Europark. The Council also holds £162,544 agreed internally as part of the Ravenswood development for improvements to the roundabout adjacent to the Thrasher PH and a further £47,293 from the same development for general off-site highway improvements.
It is proposed that IBC provide a sum of £475,000 from the funds towards the cost of these highway improvements and allow SCC to determine the best design for implementation taking into account all of the matters raised. This will help to reduce traffic congestion on this key local corridor to the benefit of all members of the public that use it as well as to local businesses and users of the A14.
That a total of £475,000 be transferred to Suffolk County Council to fund the highway improvements referred to in this report, funded as follows:
a) the balance of the Ravenswood funding for the Thrasher Public House roundabout (£162,544)
b) the balance of the Ravenswood funding for off-site highway works (£47,293) and
c) a sum of £265,163 from the Augusta Close S106 funds.
