Purpose:

The Council needs to secure an approved audit firm to carry out the review of our housing pooled capital receipts return for 2022/23, which needs to be concluded this month.

 

This service has been provided by Grant Thornton in the past and the Council has an established relationship with them for this work. Grant Thornton have provided a fixed quote of £10,000. Alternative procurement options have been sought but would not enable the work to be completed within the required

timeframe.

 

A decision has been made to waive the market testing element of contract standing orders to contract Grant Thornton as they are familiar with the work, and can complete it in the time required avoiding a delay which could lead to a financial loss.
