OD/23/57 Eastern Gateway S104 Inspection Fee

Decision Maker: Officer Decision

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council is currently redeveloping Eastern Gateway, part of the next phase includes delivery of the second pumping station (which will service eastern plots).

The section 104 technical approval has been granted. The approval process requires Anglian Water to attend to inspect and supervise during the construction/completion ensuring it is built to adoptable

standards.

The Anglian Water fee for this service is £19,333.23 (NSA-0137806). The appointment will be funded from existing capital budgets.

Decision:

To exempt this appointment from the market testing requirement of Contract Standing Orders under paragraph 3.10.2 and award the contract to Anglian Water, as the only available supplier.

Reason:

Anglian Water is the only water company that operates in the East of England that provides

water supplies/ sewerage/ sewage treatment which would need to operate this pumping station.
