OD/23/41 Paul's Silo Quantity Surveying Services

Decision Maker: Officer Decision

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Ipswich Borough Council is looking to develop the former R&W Paul Silo on the waterfront and turn it into multi-usage leisure based attraction, with a roof top (and top floor) bar / restaurant / café space – with ancillary spaces in the rest of the Silo for further leisure-based activities.

To bring this forward a quantity surveyor is required to work with the design team to provide cost management services throughout the project delivery.

Following an open tender procurement process through the Suffolk e-sourcing system, 7 bids were received.

The most economically advantageous tender was received from Allman Woodcock for the value of £38,960.00 (excl. VAT).

The appointment cost will be fully covered by existing capital budgets.

Decision:

To award the contract to Allman Woodcock.

Reason:

To enable works to proceed within given timescales.
