The Council has a statutory duty to monitor the air quality in Ipswich. As part of this monitoring the equipment used needs to be monitored, calibrated and the data analysed. This service has been provided by Ricardo who were awarded the contract after a competitive tender process.
To extend the contract for one year at a cost of £4,950 with a competitive
tender process to be undertaken to provide the services in the future. The Council previously agreed to accept Ricardo’s terms and conditions and this continues to be the case.
Reason:
• The Council has a duty to monitor air quality and needs to maintain continuity in the data. Retendering at this point would mean a significant gap in data and should the equipment require repair it could not be carried out.
• The Council has previously agreed to the terms and conditions offered by Ricardo with no adverse effect
• Ricardo have provided a good service throughout the contract term
• This is specialist equipment which requires specialist knowledge
