The Summer Holiday programme provides sport and physical activity programme for children and young people living or attending school in Ipswich, delivering a range of activities over the holiday period. In the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP), the Council committed to an annual revenue saving of £36K on the Summer Holiday Scheme, as part of a range of measures to address a budget gap. To deliver this saving the MTFP makes provision for a continuance of a free Summer Holiday iCard for young
people eligible for free school meals and a heavily subsidised iCard membership of £6 for young people ineligible for the concession.
The MTFP was presented to Full Council on 22nd February 2023, and it was resolved
that –
“the Section 151 Officer in consultation with the relevant Portfolio Holder to agree changes to fees and charges to achieve the income yield included in the “Financial Strategies and Medium-Term Financial Plan 2023/24 Onwards”.
To charge £6 for the Summer Holiday iCard for the Summer Holiday period in 2023.
Reason:
To achieve the income yield included in the “Financial Strategies and Medium-Term Financial Plan 2023/24 Onwards”.
