Why is it being made listing reasons for the decision

Following a review of onsite accommodation for grounds staff at the cemetery, a budget was made available to refurbish the Old Mortuary Depot to improve on site facilities.

 

A full tender exercise was undertaken. The decision taken was to award a contract for refurbishment of the site to Mixbrow Construction for the contract sum of £125,922.19.

 

Works will commence following pre contract meetings and planning of the works.

Use of internal services not appropriate due to scale of works.

The work will facilitate the better use of the Council’s property. The returned tender is within the overall project budget.

Internal consultations have taken place between B& DS and Parks and Open spaces. The Portfolio Holders for Parks and Open Spaces and Building and Design Services have been consulted in line with the Constitution.
